Fancy Trainers — Battle Sprites + Overworld (Free Pack)

A small DS-era Pokémon-style trainer pack: a Bride, a Groom, and a Valet, each with an 80×80 battle sprite and a 32×32 overworld chibi. Built to era limits so they drop straight into a project.

New in v2.1

The bride now has a full 4-directional walk cycle, matching the groom's from v2.0. Getting there meant a change to her battle sprite: the hem of her gown has come up to reveal her feet and shoes. Floor-length read well as a still, but with no feet showing there was nothing to carry a step, and the animation came out muddy. The new hem gives the walk something to push off.

Contents

• 3 battle trainers — Bride, Groom, Valet (80×80 each, HG/SS-inspired shading)
• 2 walk cycles — Bride and Groom, in all four directions
• 1 overworld idle — Valet (32×32)
• PNG exports with transparent backgrounds
• Tight DS-era palettes, 16 colors or fewer per sprite
• Hand-drawn pixel art — no AI

Both walk cycles are laid out the same way, so one setup covers both. Each direction is a short three-frame loop — drop it in and they walk.

Roadmap

Free updates, as and when:

• A design pass and walk cycle for the valet
• Back sprites for the battle trainers
• More characters, optional palette swaps, small props

Notes

Everything is drawn under strict size and palette limits, so the details that matter — dress sheen, suit structure, the boutonnière — still read at DS scale.
